Although Ron was born and raised in Nova Scotia, he has deep roots in the Hamilton community. He is a former city police officer who turned Tim Hortons into an iconic international franchise and, in turn, has made a tradition of investing in the community where he first realized great success. Ron believes that education, sports and recreation are vital to the development of a healthy community. In recognition of his philanthropic leadership and commitment to students and athletic excellence, McMaster University named the Ron Joyce Stadium in his honour.
