McMASTER ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Kurt Pristanski made a lasting impact on McMaster Athletics as a dedicated and versatile multi-sport athlete. Competing across wrestling, fencing, and rowing, Kurt’s year-round commitment to sport was unmatched. Over his university career, he appeared in 10 OUA championship events, earning medals in eight of them - a testament to his consistency and competitive excellence. His standout performances in fencing earned him team MVP honours for three consecutive years, and in 1978, he was named runner-up for McMaster’s Male Athlete of the Year.
Kurt’s passion for sport continued beyond his time as a student-athlete. He remained active in the athletic community, coaching fencing, and went on to win a Northern Ontario Curling Championship. Now that his competitive days are over, Kurt volunteers on the local Curling Club Board and assists in organizing Northern Curling Championships as well as local bonspiels.
His legacy is defined not only by his achievements across multiple disciplines, but also by his continued dedication to fostering athletic excellence and mentorship in the broader sports community.
