McMASTER ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Tyler was a key contributor to the McMaster men’s volleyball team during one of its most dominant stretches, helping lead the Marauders to three OUA championship titles. A force at the net, Tyler led the country in total blocks and hitting percentage, establishing himself as one of the top front-row players in Canadian university volleyball. His leadership and performance earned him the role of team captain for two seasons, during which he set multiple program records—including McMaster marks for blocks in a game (13), season (154), and career (439)—and was named McMaster’s Ivor Wynne Male Athlete of the Year in 2011.
Tyler’s excellence extended beyond the university level, earning him a place on Team Canada’s roster for both the 2011 FISU Games and the Pan American Games. His international experience and on-court presence reflected the high standard he set throughout his career. Tyler’s legacy at McMaster is defined by his athletic dominance, leadership, and contributions to the national volleyball stage.
