Ray joined the Marauder football staff in 1965 and was part of the 1967 Atlantic Bowl winners and Vanier Cup finalist team. He took over as head football coach from 1969-1980 and also served as head wrestling coach between 1965-69. Ray spent two terms as the chair of Men's Athletics and was also a two-time president of the OUAA and spent several years on the CIAU Board of Directors.
