Rich had an outstanding five year wrestling career as a McMaster Marauder. He was the CIAU champion in 1994 and a two-time CIAU silver medallist in 1992 and 1993. He also captured 2 OUAA Gold medals in 1992 and 1994 and an OUAA silver medal in 1993. Rich was a member of the OUAA championship team in 1993, and was co-captain of the CIAU championship team in 1994. In his final season Rich was named the winner of the Ivor Wynne Trophy as the McMaster male athlete of the year. He resides in his hometown of Sarnia where he is married and is working as a chemical engineer.
