2SLGBTQ+ Student-Athletic Emergency Bursary
Financial support for urgent needs within the McMaster Athletics community
Unexpected expenses can create immediate challenges. The McMaster Athletics & Recreation 2SLGBTQ+ Student-Athletic Emergency Bursary provides timely financial assistance to eligible students while keeping the application process straightforward.
Eligible applicants may request up to $500 to help address an immediate need. The bursary will remain open while funding is available.
Who can apply
You may apply if you self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+ and are a McMaster:
Student-athlete
Student field therapist (SFT)
Student performance coach (SPC)
What you’ll be asked to provide
The application asks you to briefly describe your circumstances and immediate needs, indicate how much funding you are requesting (up to $500), and say whether you would be interested in learning about additional campus supports.
How to apply
Complete the Microsoft application form using your McMaster email address. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so that incoming needs can be considered in a timely manner.
The application form will close once available funding has been exhausted. Students are encouraged to apply while funding remains available.
Additional information
This emergency bursary does not count toward an athletic financial award (AFA). Applications are kept on file for one year.
