A two-time OWIAA all-star, voted McMaster's Swimmer of the Year in 1990. Kira earned multiple top finishes in CIAU and OWIAA competitions. She received the WIAC Service Award in 1991 and 1993; she was also honoured with the Dr. Edna Guest Award in 1993.
