Thompson coached 15 of the 18 McMaster championship water polo teams in the 1970's and 80's. No other Mac team equals that 20 year record. Son of swimming notable Jimmy Thompson, Robert coached Canadian water polo teams at Olympic, Pan-American and World Student levels.
