HAMILTON, Ont. - The McMaster Marauders hosted the annual Marauder Bayfront Open on Friday. As the final race before the OUA Championships, the Bayfront was buzzing with representatives from thirteen OUA programs as they all descended on Hamilton for one final tune up before the big race on October 29th.

After winning the previous two races this season, the No. 1 nationally-ranked McMaster men's cross country team continued to thrive, topping the field on Friday for the third straight time. The Marauders led from the start and never relinquished their lead, crossing the finish line in the top four spots, showcasing once again that they are the team to beat.
Fifth-year,
Max Turek (Whitby, Ont.), earned individual gold with a time of just 23:47.2 on the eight kilometre course at Bayfront Park. Led by Turek's first place finish, the Marauder men's team saw all five scoring athletes finish in the top eight in a field of 128 competitors.
Andrew Davies (Sarnia, Ont.),
Dylan Alick (Mississauga, Ont.) and
Alex Drover (Kingston, Ont.) crossed the line in second through fourth places, respectively, while
Sam Nusselder (Port Elgin, Ont.) rounded out McMaster's top five with an eighth place time of 24:42.1.
On the women's side, third-year Marauder,
Rosalyn Barrett (Ottawa, Ont.) earned a seventh place finish of 29:22.9 as she led No. 5 McMaster to a third place finish in the ten-team women's field.
Hannah Goodjohn (Mount Albert, Ont.) crossed the finish line in 13
th while
Sarah Nolan (Toronto, Ont.) and
Kaitlyn Treleaven (Hamilton, Ont.) finished in 18
th and 19
th, respectively, on the women's side.
Kayla Overholt (Burlington, Ont.), who ended the race in 24
th, completed the McMaster women's scoring group.

The Marauders will now prepare for the OUA Championships which will take place in two weeks in London on Saturday October 29th.
