Purnell takes home a pair of medals at OUAs, Weist grabs 3rd in 3000m

WINDSOR, Ont. — The Lancers hosted the 2025 OUA Championships this past weekend, where the Marauders took home a trio of medals. 

Alexander Purnell (Dundas, Ont.) took home the silver medal in the 1500m with a time of 3:50.70. Purnell also medaled in the 3000m taking home the gold with a time of 8:09.70, and another Marauder would join him on the podium with Will Weist (Toronto, Ont.) taking the bronze in a time of 8:15.65.

McMaster also had a men's and women's team compete in the 4x800m relay with the women grabbing 4th and men's taking 5th. 

The Marauders also had Ana Morariu (Kincardine, Ont.) finish 5th in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:31.76. Morariu also ran the 3000m where she finished 9th.

Also in the 3000m, the Marauders had Kaitlyn Treleaven (Hamilton, Ont.) finish in 7th at 9:46.01, and on her heels was Victoria Lamb (London, Ont.) in 8th, finishing in 9:46.64.

Next Up:

The Marauders will head back to Windsor for the U SPORTS Championships on March 6th-8th.
