WINDSOR, Ont. - The McMaster track teams had a great weekend with three podium finishes at the OUA Championships. The women's track team ran to gold and bronze in the 3000m, while the men's team earned themselves a bronze in the 4x800m relay.
Women's Track Results
The Marauders raced in the 1000m, 3000m, and 4x800m relay on Friday in Windsor. Two Marauders ran to podium finishes in the 3000m, with Kaitlyn Treleaven taking gold (9:43.17) and Hannah Goodjohn earning bronze (9:48.12). The third McMaster runner in the 3000m race was Kayla Overholt, who finished 13th with a time of 10:09.58. The Meaford local Kara Tichbourne was the lone Marauder racing in the 1000m race, finishing 14th with a personal best time of 2:59.45. For the women's 4x800m relay, McMaster's team consisted of Kaylee White, Victoria Lamb, Olivia MacAskill, and Rosalyn Barrett who ran to a fifth-place finish (9:24.98). Three Marauders competed in the 1500m on Saturday, with Barrett running to a sixth-place finish (4:34.95) and Lamb finishing in ninth (4:36.81). First year Ella Madsen finished 16th in the 1500m with a time of 4:40.67.
Men's Track Results
On Friday, two Marauders competed in the 1000m and placed side by side in the results. Porter Lakhanpal and Connor Black placed 14th and 15th with times 2:32.80 and 2:33.97, respectively. Three McMaster runners raced in the 3000m, with Ben Keller crossing the finish line first for the maroon with a time of 8:40.87, earning seventh place. Close behind him was Ryan Davies in eighth, with a time of 8:41.10. The third Marauder was Lukas Vadeika who finished in 11th (8:46.23). The highlight for the McMaster men was their 4x800m relay, where Tristan Bouius, Noah Mulkewich, William Weist, and Samuel Patrick ran to a bronze medal (7:43.52). On Saturday, three Marauders ran in the 1500m race, with Weist placing just shy of the podium in fourth (3:53.14). Following him were teammates Patrick in sixth (3:54.31) and Mulkewich in 18th (4:03.78).
