Toronto, Ont. - The Marauders competed in the Hal Brown Last Chance Meet, their final meet before OUA Championships on Feb. 23rd-24th. The meet was hosted by the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, Feb. 16th.
On the women's side, second year Emma Elliott had a great 1500m race, where she finished first with a time of 4:45.56. Teammates Nora Treleaven, Maya Parkin, and Joselyn Rivera Marcotte also raced in the 1500m race and finished ninth, 12th and 13th, respectively. Kara Tichbourne was the sole Marauder woman racing in the 1000m, where she finished sixth (3:03.40).
On the men's side, the first Marauder to race was Matthew Markson in the 600m, where he finished seventh with a time of 1:24.50. McMaster's men found the top of the podium in the 1500m, where third year Lukas Vadeika placed first (4:05.67) and Austin McGoey was right behind him in second (4:05.98). Three Marauders raced in the 1000m race, where Connor Black finished sixth (2:33.40), with Ryan Ferri and Alex Megas close behind in ninth (2:36.35) and tenth (2:37.73). Chris Hoftyzer ran to a first-place finish in the 3000m race, putting down a time of 8:49.39.
