ANN ARBOUR, Michigan – The Marauders travelled to Michigan this past weekend (Jan. 26th – 27th) to compete in the University of Michigan's 2024 Invitational track meet. Five McMaster athletes ran to personal bests, making for an exciting weekend.
Third year Victoria Lamb had the top finish out of all McMaster athletes, running to ninth place and earning herself a personal best in the women's 3000m (9:35.93). Lamb has been having a great track season so far, after having a strong performance last weekend by placing first in the 1-mile race. Kaitlyn Treleaven finished 12th in that race (9:52.02) while senior Hannah Goodjohn was close behind in 13th (9:55.78). In the women's 1 mile, Rosalyn Barrett was the first Marauder to cross the line with a 20th place finish and earning a personal best, 4:53.39. Following her was first year Ella Madsen with a time of 4:57.41. The Marauders also had athletes entered in the women's 800m, where Kara Tichbourne finished 25th (2:21.74) and Kaylee White finished 26th (2:22.17).
On the men's side, Noah Mulkewich was the first Marauder to cross the finish in the men's 800m, finishing 12th in the race with a time of 1:53.50. First year Porter Lakhanpal followed him, placing 17th (1:55.92), and close behind him were Tristan Bouius in 18th (1:56.51) and Connor Black in 19th (1:56.97). In the men's 3000m, two Marauders ran to personal bests; Jason Lowrie (8:29.98) who finished 30th, and Lukas Vadeika (8:37.12) finishing 36th. Will Weist and Ryan Davies finished in front of Lowrie, placing 16th (8:17.59) and 29th (8:28.85), respectively.
