Sending a strong contingent of athletes, the Marauders are entered in 14 events for the championship that kicks off on Friday and ends on Saturday afternoon.
Leading the way is 2021 OUA cross country champion, Andrew Davies, who is entered in the men's 3000m and men's 1500m. Davies holds the fastest time in the OUA this season in the 3000m with a seed time of 7:55.85, a time that he set in Boston shattering the Marauders school record in the process. Ranked second in the same event is teammate Alex Drover with a seed time of 7:58.58. Meanwhile teammate Ryan Tyrrell ranks fifth in the OUA in the event with a seed time of 8:08.14 giving the Marauders a strong team.
Staying with Drover, the veteran is a medal threat in the men's 1500m, ranking second in the OUA with a time of 3:45.42. Also featured in the men's 1500m is Max Turek who is no stranger to fast times – currently ranked sixth in the OUA in the event with a time of 3:47.35, Turek could very well see himself on the podium with Drover by the end of the weekend.
Fifth-year standout Erin Mawhinney looks to bring her Marauder career to an end in a big way, as the Hamilton native is entered in both the women's 1500m and women's 3000m. Ranked fourth in the 3000m with a time of 9:34.34, and ninth in the 1500m with a time of 4:29.44, Mawhinney can certainly find herself in the mix and walk away with another OUA medal this year after capturing OUA bronze in cross country during the fall.
Also entered in both the women's 1500m and 3000m are Hannah Goodjohn and Sarah Nolan. Goodjohn holds seed times of 4:39.11 and 9:49.47 while Nolan is seeded 4:40.16 and 9:53.50 in the 1500m and 3000m events, respectively.
Rounding out the team's individual entries are David Marchant and Ryan Were in the men's 1000m. The pair are seeded 2:29.64 and 2:36.04, respectively, in the event.
The team also has three relays entered at the championship with a men's 4x400m and 4x800m relay, and a women's 4x800m relay (see entries below).
