Forbes capped off an impressive sophomore season with the Marauders last weekend, competing in the women's 3000m at the U SPORTS Track & Field Championships in Edmonton, Alta.

The team-captain qualified for her first U SPORTS national appearance, alongside teammate Morgan McKeown, becoming the first female athletes to represent the Maroon at nationals since 2014.

The Kinesiology major raced strong for the Marauders, clocking in a time of 10:18.18 to finish 13th in the 15-lap distance.

Humanities 1

Newly named OUA All-Rookie team member Sam Cooper put on a pair of strong performances last weekend, as the Marauders hosted the Forsyth Cup Final Four.

Competing in his first postseason with the Maroon, Cooper recorded seven kills on 10 attacks, hitting .600 percent in the semi-final loss against the Queen's Gaels. But the squad, as well as the Humanities major, bounced back a day later clinching Bronze and a national berth in sweeping fashion over the Guelph Gryphons.

Cooper picked up another seven kills, to go with two service aces and a solo block, en route to Player of the Game honours.
