WOMEN'S LACROSSE IMPRESSES IN FRONT OF HOME CROWD

Hamilton, Ont. - The McMaster women's lacrosse team hosted a game against the Brock Badgers on Wednesday at Alumni Field in front of a packed crowd.

The Marauders dominated from the beginning of the game and played some solid defence throughout. The true team effort helped put a total of 11 goals on the board for the Marauders, while on defence they only allowed two.

Goalie Christine McCauley (Orillia, Ont.) was a major factor for McMaster in their defeat of Brock.

Multiple goal scorers for the game included Kyra Reilly (Grimsby, Ont.) with four and Lindsay Hamilton (Mississauga, Ont.) with two. Fives different Marauders scored a goal each in the win including Jackie Heaton (Peterborough, Ont.), Julie Marquardt (Whitby, Ont.), Stephanie Ball (Brampton, Ont.), Sarah Hampel (Burlington, Ont.), and Sarah Rae.

In the season openers on September 15, the Marauders lost to the Western Mustangs 11-6, but redeemed themselves with a big win over the Toronto Varsity Blues later in the day by a score of 9-6.

The Marauders will play three times over the weekend in Kingston. They will face the Badgers again, and will have a double header versus the Laurier Golden Hawks.
