The sharp-shooting Danielle Boiago, a star from the moment she stepped on the Burridge Gym floor in her first year, formalized her status as one of the best players in McMaster’s history on Saturday.
She opened her weekend with a double-double, 25-point performance against the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, shooting 8-23 from the field and 8-11 from the stripe while racking up 14 boards as Mac lost out 61-60 in overtime.
The next night, Boiago eclipsed the McMaster career scoring record, breaking the previous mark of 1289 set by Taylor Chiarot in 2012. The fourth-year guard posted a total of 16 points on the night, adding six boards, seven assists and four steals and finishing the weekend with an ongoing team record of 1293 career points, as Mac blew out Carleton 73-51.
