HAMILTON, Ont. – The McMaster Marauders are set to compete at the 2025 OUA Championships, hosted by TMU Bold at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on March 4 and 5, facing off against 10 teams from across the province.
After finishing fifth at the 2024 OUA Figure Skating Championships, the Marauders are determined to secure a podium finish to cap off their season.
Athletes to watch
Alistair Lam (Hamilton, Ont.) is preparing for his fourth and final OUA Championship with the McMaster Marauders and is determined to remain undefeated in the Men's Open event. During his time on the team, Lam made history as the first athlete to attempt a triple axel and quadruple in a competition. To conclude his OUA career, Lam is hoping to earn a gold medal in the Senior Pairs event with rookie partner
Katherine Karon (Windsor, Ont.).
Karon has had a thrilling career in figure skating, having previously competed at the 2023 Canadian National Skating Championships and the 2023 Canada Challenge. She looks forward to her first OUA Championship. Karon had a successful season, capturing two silver medals at Brock's Winter Invitational, and is determined to earn podium finishes in Gold Women's and Senior Pairs with long-time training partner Lam. The championships will also mark Karon's debut in Synchro.
