Marauders water polo teams finish season at the NCWP Championships

KINGSTON, Ont. — The McMaster Marauders water polo teams visited Kingston, Ont., to participate in the National Collegiate Water Polo Championships.

The McMaster men had a strong showing in their first game against the Queen's Gaels. The Marauders were underdogs but played with heart and earned the 13-9 win, moving on to the semi-finals. The Marauders continued their impressive offensive attack by scoring 10 goals against a strong Western team but would ultimately fall 24-10.

The Marauders then battled for the bronze against Carleton. The game was hard fought but McMaster was defeated 16-10, finishing just outside the podium in fourth place. Assistant Captain, Kane Law (Singapore), says the Marauders are pleased with their performance despite the loss, "…we are extremely proud of ourselves as a team for how far we got this weekend and season."

The McMaster women played in a very tight quarter final match up. McMaster had strong offensive output and narrowly lost 10-9 against the McGill, eliminating them from championship contention.  The women took on Carleton in a consolation match and would fall with another close score, 12-9.

The Marauders season has now finished as they move along into the 2025 season.
