Coming off of a bronze medal at last year's NCWP Waterpolo Championships, the Marauders will look to land on the podium again this year. McMaster will open up the competition against the McGill Martlets on Friday at 8pm at the Nepean Sportsplex. The Marauders hosted the NCWP Championships last year in their home IWC pool and will hope for another strong performance on the road this year.

Seven teams enter the competition this weekend to fight for the NCWP Championship title – the Carleton Ravens, Guelph Gryphons, McGill Martlets, McMaster Marauders, Ottawa Gee-Gees, Queen's Gaels, and Toronto Varsity Blues. The Varsity Blues are the reigning champions, maintaining a dominant gold-medal finish with their program over the past six seasons.
McMaster's team, led by fifth-year captains Katie DeMelo and Agatha Jawor, has a dynamic blend of experience. With many graduating players and five student-athletes in their first year of eligibility, the team will hope to bring new energy to this year's championship. The team also brings international experience with two student-athletes at McMaster on exchange; Imogen Sneath from the United Kingdom and Elena Sierra from Spain.
If the Marauders come up with the win on Friday, they will advance to play the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday at 4:40pm at Carelton University. If not, they will play on Saturday at 2:20pm at Carleton University against the loser of game 1 in the consolation bracket.
