McMaster's Women's Waterpolo team closed out their season this past weekend in Ottawa at the NCWP Championships.  

The Marauders opened up their weekend of competition against the McGill Martlets, where McMaster hoped to pick up a win to move onto the playoff bracket. The first period was a close contest, with McGill scoring the first goal but McMaster responding with two goals from Meghan Pancucci and Karima Al-Aoussi. The teams were matched at 3-3 going into the halftime break. Coming into the third period, McGill began to find a lead, bringing the score to 7-4. The Marauders fought hard to comeback, with an impressive three-goal period for Al-Aoussi, but despite their best efforts, the Martlets edged them out by one, 8-7.  

After a tough first game, McMaster moved into the consolation bracket to play against the Carleton Ravens. The Marauders had a strong start and showed their depth with four goals coming from four different players in the first period, bringing them to a 4-1 lead. The Marauders continued to roll out their offense, with two more goals in the second period to bring them to 6-2. Looking dominant, Al-Aoussi picked up six goals in the game for McMaster while Avery Atanas had two goals. The Marauders were able to finish on top with a confident 12-7 win.  

Following their win against the Ravens, the Marauders moved to play against the Guelph Gryphons. McMaster showed their strength on offense over the Gryphons, as they defeated them 11-1 to win their final game of the season.  

As the Marauders close out their season, they gain another year of experience and look to comeback for another strong season next year.
