WINDSOR, Ont. — The McMaster Marauders participated in the 2024 OUA Golf Championships in Windsor, Ont. at the Ambassador Golf Club. The men's team finished T5 and the women's in tenth place.
The Marauders men's team finished with 599 points across both days. The men participated in a group of five, including
Kavith Ranchagoda (Richmond Hill, Ont.),
Martin Ammeux (Lile, Ont.),
Matthew Martel (Pelham, Ont.)
Matthew Hendry (Kingston, Ont.), and
Nicolas Dessureault (Oakville, Ont.).
The Marauders women's team finished with 528 points across both days. The women participated in a group that included,
Jimin Kim (Thornhill, Ont.),
Kaylee Jeon (Mississauga, Ont.),
Evelyn Lai (Newmarket, Ont.) and
Alejandra Elliott-Cordoba (Burlington, Ont.).
Men's Results
The tournament started on Saturday, October 5
th and the men's team had a solid day, finishing in seventh place shooting 296. On day two, McMaster had another solid day as a team, scoring 303 points for total of 599 on the day, placing them fifth in the tournament.
Ranchagoda had a remarkable tournament shooting -2 on day one, and shooting + 3 on day two, finishing +1 on the tournament. Ranchagoda finished tied for second in tournament scoring, taking home First-Team OUA All-Star honours. Ammeux and Dessureault each finished their tournament tied for 31
st. Hendry and Martel finished tied for 41
st and 52
nd respectively.
Women's Results
Day one of the tournament saw the women's team shoot 260 or +47 on the day, which sat them in tenth place with some catching up to do in day two. On day two, the Marauders would not be able to gain any ground as the team would shoot 268 or +55, placing them once again in tenth place.
Jeon would finish tied for 32
nd while Kim finished in 33
rd. Elliott-Cordoba and Lai would finish tied for 42
nd and 47
th respectively.
