Box Score There was no David and Goliath story to be had Friday, as the no. 3-ranked Marauders easily dispatched the OUA's newest members, the Trent Excalibur, in Peterborough. McMaster swept Trent (25-20, 25-10, 25-12) while hitting 36 per cent as a team, improving to 2-0 in the process.
Veteran middle Danny Demyanenko led the match with 7.5 points, and was a perfect six for six hitting, while adding a block and a half.
Jayson McCarthy was similarly efficient from the opposite position, making good on five of six attempts versus one error while adding two aces.
Their lopsided night allowed McMaster to extend playing time to several young players, as rookies Dylan Romero Marshall, Josh Eklund and David Doty all checked in over the course of Friday's night's match. Doty spelled off Andrew Richards at the setter position, notching 11 assists off the bench.
NEXT UP: McMaster returns home to the Burridge Gym to conclude the weekend against the York Lions on Saturday, November 5. First serve is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., dependent on the outcome of the preceding women's match. All action will be webcast live on OUA.tv.
