WINDSOR, Ont. – McMaster men's volleyball student-athlete Mekhi Fitzgerald has earned national recognition, being named to the U SPORTS All-Rookie Team following an impressive debut season with the Marauders.

Mekhi Fitzgerald delivered a standout first season for the Marauders, earning a place on the U SPORTS All-Rookie Team after emerging as one of the top freshman performers in the country. Appearing in 19 matches, Fitzgerald recorded 188 kills (2.61 per set) on 485 attacks with a .237 hitting percentage, ranking among the most productive rookies in the conference.
He finished the season with 227.5 total points (3.2 per set) while contributing across all areas of the game. Fitzgerald added 74 digs, 27 total blocks (0.38 per set), 19 service aces (0.26 per set), and 14 assists, showcasing his versatility and impact on both sides of the ball. Starting 16 matches in his rookie campaign, he quickly proved to be a reliable presence in the Marauders lineup.
With his combination of scoring ability, strong serve, and defensive contributions, Fitzgerald established himself as one of the nation's top newcomers and a key piece of McMaster's future moving forward.
