McMaster wrestling was in action at the Pat Bolger Open in Toronto, and the squash teams competed at Sectional #2 in DBAC.

The McMaster Marauders (1-6) pushed the undefeated Western Mustangs (8-0) to the wire on Friday night at Burridge Gymnasium, but fell 63-65 in a tightly contested matchup. Both sides opened with composed, half-court play in the first quarter. Western struck first before Ares Culley-Bremner (Hamilton, Ont.) answered with a jumper to get McMaster on the board. Tyler Garcia (Mississauga, Ont.) later drained a three-pointer to pull the Marauders even, setting the tone for a tightly paced game. The second quarter mirrored the opening frame, with neither team leading by more than a possession. Despite McMaster's persistent defensive pressure, Western closed the half ahead 31-28.
The third quarter opened cautiously, with both teams trading baskets. Isaiah Flores (Whitby, Ont.) and Jeremiah Francis (Surrey, B.C.) each knocked down a three-pointer to keep McMaster within striking distance, entering the fourth quarter with raised pressure. Garcia hit a jumper early in the final frame to give McMaster a brief lead before Western countered with a push of its own. Francis responded with another three to keep the Marauders close, but the Mustangs executed in the closing moments to secure the 63-65 victory.

The McMaster Marauders put together a strong second half but couldn't overcome a hot-shooting Windsor Lancers squad on Saturday night, dropping a 95–82 decision at Burridge Gym in OUA men's basketball action. Windsor came out firing, putting up 27 first-quarter points on 55% shooting to grab early control, while McMaster opened with 14 and struggled to find rhythm from beyond the arc.
The Lancers continued their pace in the second frame, extending their lead with a 31-point quarter to take a 58–35 advantage into halftime. The Marauders responded with energy after the break, outscoring Windsor 24–21 in the third as their interior scoring and defensive pressure began to shift momentum. McMaster kept pushing in the fourth, adding another 23 points, but the Lancers' early cushion proved too large to erase.
McMaster showed strong balance across its lineup, with five players scoring in double figures. Jack McMahan knocked down four threes on his way to 13 points, while Ares Culley-Bremner delivered a well-rounded performance of 13 points, five rebounds, four blocks, and two assists in 33 minutes. Jacyn Taylor added 13 points and six boards, and Riaz Saliu chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Garcia rounded out the group with 12 points and three assists despite fouling out late.

The McMaster Marauders (1-6) fell 71-84 to the Western Mustangs (4-4) on Friday night at Burridge Gymnasium. Sophia Urosevic (Kitchener, Ont.) opened the scoring to set the tone for a back-and-forth first quarter. The Marauders locked in defensively and created separation when Emily Frankovic (Thornhill, Ont.) knocked down a three-pointer to extend the lead. Taylor Scott (Burlington, Ont.) capped the frame with a jumper, sending McMaster into the break up seven. The Marauders carried momentum into the second quarter. Playing strong offensively and with efficient shooting, McMaster maintained control and took a 46-38 advantage into halftime.
Jordan Denkers (Hamilton, Ont.) converted a layup early in the third to give McMaster an additional boost, but Western responded with increased pressure on both ends. The Mustangs made a comeback and eventually overtook the lead heading into the fourth. Intensity increased in the final quarter as the Marauders pushed to close the gap, but Western held firm to secure the 71-84 win.

The McMaster Marauders battled hard on home court Saturday night at Burridge Gym but came up short in a 76–55 loss to the Windsor Lancers in OUA women's basketball action. McMaster opened the game with energy, taking an early lead. The Marauders continued to push offensively through the first quarter, trailing just 23–20 after 10 minutes.
Windsor, however, responded with a dominant second frame, outscoring McMaster 25-12 to build a double-digit halftime cushion. Despite strong defensive stretches and improved rebounding, the Marauders were unable to close the gap in the second half, with Windsor maintaining control through balanced scoring and a 40 rebound performance.
Scott led McMaster with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, recording her first double-double of the season while shooting 7-for-15 from the field. She also added a block and a steal across 27 minutes of action. Veteran forward Emily Frankovic provided a steady presence with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Teja McCormick added seven points and eight boards off the bench.
McMaster showed strength on the glass, outrebounding Windsor, but the Marauders struggled with turnovers and shooting efficiency, finishing 1-for-9 from three-point range and 33.9% from the floor. Windsor countered with 16 assists, 13 steals, and seven blocks to fuel its transition game.

McMaster battled hard on Friday night, showing strong stretches of play even though Western ultimately took the match in three sets. Kaden Zunti (Burlington, Ont.) consistently found ways to score early, adding points on the board to start the first set. Mekhi Fitzgerald (Milton, Ont.) and Matthias Cooper (Hamilton, Ont.) added important attacks of their own. At the net, Michael Rendulic (Stoney Creek, Ont.) stood out with several key blocks. In the backcourt, Matthew Rugosi (Toronto, Ont.) kept rallies alive with steady digging. Even though the Marauders stayed within striking distance in every set, Western was able to pull away late.

The McMaster Marauders battled hard but ultimately fell 3–1 to the Western Mustangs. The match opened with Western dominating the first set, hitting efficiently and taking control early. McMaster struggled to find rhythm, scoring just 19 points to Western's 25. The second set saw the Marauders fight back, trading points volley for volley, but Western edged them out 24–26 in a nail-biting finish. McMaster came back stronger in the third set, with Seth O'Brien (Kingston, Ont.) leading the attack with powerful kills, Mekhi Fitzgerald (Milton, Ont.) contributing key points, and Matthew Rugosi (Toronto, Ont.) anchoring the defence with solid digs. Their effort paid off, as McMaster took the set 25–21. However, In the fourth set, Western gained momentum, using strong offense and blocking to secure the set 25–21 and the match.

McMaster opened with a tight 26-24 first set before taking control in the second, hitting efficiently and defending well to win 25-17. After Western stole the third, the Marauders responded with a dominant fourth-set performance, recording 13 kills to close the match 25-15. Olivia Julien (Toronto, Ont.) and Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) led the attack with kills and digs, while Angelika Vidmar (Etobicoke, Ont.) added crucial blocks to extend their advantage. McMaster delivered another confident win to remain perfect on the season.

Despite early dominance and balanced contributions across all positions, McMaster couldn't maintain its initial control as Western gained momentum in the later sets, resulting in a 1–3 final score.

November 16 - Pat Bolger Open, Toronto, Ont. | Results
The McMaster Marauders delivered a strong showing at the Pat Bolger Open at TMU this Sunday, earning a series of podium finishes across both the men's and women's divisions. On the men's side, Blayne Helou (Pickering, Ont.) led the way with an impressive performance, capturing first place in the 61 kg category. Luken Lawson (Enfield, N.S.)added to the team's momentum, wrestling his way to a silver-medal finish at 82 kg.
The women's roster produced an equally impactful outing. Mayumi King claimed McMaster's second title of the tournament with a dominant run in the 56 kg division. Juliana Skaljin (Hamilton, Ont.) and Natalie Vecchio (Kingston, Ont.) both secured silver medals in the 65 kg and 76 kg categories respectively, while Megann Nkenglack (Barrie, Ont.) added another second-place finish at 83 kg. Tehani Blais (Winnipeg, Man.) picked up a third-place result in the 68 kg weight class, and Mara Sanders (London, Ont.) rounded out the group with a fourth-place finish at 53 kg.
It was a strong overall day for the Marauders, who left Toronto with two champions and several hard-earned podium results across the lineup.
