Hamilton, Ont.— The McMaster Marauders had a championship-filled weekend, highlighted by women's volleyball earning OUA silver, while track and field competed at the U SPORTS Championships in Winnipeg and fencing and badminton took part in their respective OUA Championships.

The McMaster Marauders men's fencing team delivered a competitive performance this past weekend at the OUA Fencing Championships in Waterloo, with strong results across the foil, épée, and sabre events while narrowly missing the podium in multiple team competitions.
McMaster's top individual results came in men's foil, where
Darren Dong led the Marauders with a fifth-place finish after advancing through pool bouts and the elimination bracket against a deep provincial field. Teammate Gordon Ye also cracked the top ten with an eighth-place finish, while Eric DeGraaf placed 22nd and Benjamin Semmler finished 24th in the event.
In men's sabre,
Jeremy Shi paced the Marauders with a seventh-place finish, showing strong form throughout the day. He was joined by Kayden Yeung, who finished 15th, along with Lewis Zhang (21st) and
Matthew Graydon (24th).
The Marauders were also represented in men's épée, where
Mohab Mefreh recorded McMaster's best result with an eighth-place finish. Teammates
Zachary Smith (27th), Vineet Aggarwal (31st), and
Callum Williams (39th) also competed in the event.
In the team competitions, McMaster remained competitive across all three weapons. The Marauders finished fourth in both team foil and team sabre, narrowly missing the podium, while placing fifth in team épée against some of the OUA's strongest programs, including Waterloo, Toronto, and Ottawa.
Badminton
March 6-8 - OUA Championships, Toronto, Ont.
The McMaster Marauders competed at the 2026 OUA Badminton Championships hosted by the University of Toronto from March 6–8, delivering several strong individual performances against some of the conference's top programs.
McMaster opened the championship with an impressive 9–1 victory over Toronto Metropolitan University in pool play, showcasing the depth of the Marauders' lineup. The team later faced two tough opponents, falling 9–1 to the host University of Toronto and 7–3 to Western in closely contested matches.
Individually, Chloe Wang led the way for McMaster with one of the tournament's top overall performances. Wang finished with a perfect 4–0 record, posting an 8–1 game record while outscoring opponents 186–121. Her strong showing placed her among the top performers at the championship.
Xincheng Zhao also had an outstanding weekend for the Marauders, going 3–0 in her matches and winning all six of her games while allowing just 41 points across those contests. Chloe Mak contributed another solid performance with a 3–1 record and a 6–2 game mark throughout the tournament.
Additional contributions came from Jessalyn Lai, Xiangyu Zhong, and Alex Zhang, each earning multiple match victories during the event to help keep McMaster competitive throughout the weekend.
