Samuel Patrick (Guelph, Ont.) have been crowned this week's Marauder Athletes of the Week for their excellent showings over the weekend.

McMaster badminton athlete
Chloe Wang delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 OUA Badminton Championships in Toronto, helping lead the Marauders with consistent success across multiple events. Wang competed in both women's doubles and mixed doubles, posting an impressive 8–2 overall record across 10 matches during the championship weekend.
In women's doubles, Wang went 4–1, including a dominant straight-set victory over Toronto Metropolitan (21–17, 21–15) and a strong win against York (21–5, 21–10). She also excelled in mixed doubles play, finishing 4–1, highlighted by decisive victories over Toronto Metropolitan (21–10, 21–12) and Ottawa (21–10, 21–10).
Her strong performances throughout the championship played a key role in McMaster's success and earned Wang recognition as an OUA All-Star, capping off a standout weekend on the provincial stage.
Samuel Patrick (Guelph, Ont.)
Distance Track athlete
Samuel Patrick delivered a strong performance for the McMaster Marauders at the 2026 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, competing in both the 1500m and 3000m events.
Patrick's best finish came in the men's 3000m, where he captured silver with a time of 8:17.60, finishing just behind Queen's runner Jude Wheeler-Dee in a tightly contested race. The performance earned Patrick eight team points for the Marauders and highlighted his endurance against one of the nation's strongest distance fields.
He also competed in the men's 1500m, placing seventh overall with a time of 3:51.99, adding two more points to McMaster's team total.
Across the two races, Patrick contributed 10 points for the Marauders while demonstrating impressive versatility by competing in both middle-distance and distance events during the national championship weekend.
