HAMILTON, Ont. — Women's Curling,
Evelyn Robert (Clarksburg, Ont.), and Men's Swimming,
Charlie Giammichele (Hamilton, Ont.) have been crowned this week's Marauder Athletes of the Week for their excellent showings over the weekend.
Evelyn Robert - (Clarksburg, Ont.)
Evelyn Robert delivered another championship-calibre performance, leading McMaster to silver at the 2026 U SPORTS Women's Curling Championship and a second straight national final appearance.
The skip helped guide the Marauders to a 5-2 round robin record, highlighted by wins over Calgary (7-6), Guelph (7-6), Queen's (12-5), and Regina (6-5). After falling 6-5 in an extra-end thriller to Alberta in the semifinal round-robin matchup, McMaster responded with a clutch 3-2 semifinal victory over the Pandas to advance. In the gold medal game, the Marauders dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to Memorial.
Stepping into the critical last stone role just three weeks prior to OUAs, following a late lineup change, Robert embraced the pressure and delivered throughout nationals. Her poise and shot-making earned her Women's Second-Team All-Star honours and secured McMaster's best-ever U SPORTS result for the second consecutive season.
Charlie Giammichele - (Hamilton, Ont.)
Charlie Giammichele delivered a dominant performance at the 2026 OUA Swimming Championships, capturing two gold medals and one silver in multi-class para competition for McMaster.
