HAMILTON Ont. — On Saturday, the McMaster swimming team took part in back to back meets at home. The Marauders won both meets in overall combined team scores.

The day started with the Tri Meet vs the Guelph Gryphons and the Waterloo Warriors.

First year, Brian Dietz, (Etobicoke, Ont.) had a strong performance for the Marauders grabbing first in the men's 200m SC freestyle with a time of 1:54.70, second in the 100m SC backstroke, touching the wall at 58.37 and another gold in the 400m SC IM, clocking in at 4:36.83.

Michelle Wang, (Port Elgin, Ont.) captured gold in both the women's 50m SC butterfly, with a time of 27.91 and the 100m SC backstroke, in 1:04.31.

Mikaela Blake, (Uxbridge, Ont.) put some points on the board for McMaster after coming in first in the women's 50m SC backstroke, with a time of 30.10, adding 20 points to the team score for McMaster. She would also grab second in the 100m SC backstroke, stopping the clock at 1:05.29.

Nicole Carter, (Richmond Hill, Ont.) also came away with three podium finishes, grabbing first in the women's 200m SC IM, in 2:26.04, second in the 100m SC breaststroke touching the wall at 1:15.01 and third in the 50m SC breaststroke with a time of 35.59.

Overall in combined team scores McMaster took the title with 1843 points. Later in the day the Marauders faced off against the Brock Badgers in the Dual Meet.

Sara Gray, (Kelowna, B.C.) took home triple gold in the women's 100m SC breaststroke, the 50m SC breaststroke and the 200m SC IM.

Wang's dominance continued later on in the day as well, as she won the women's 100m SC butterfly and 50m SC freestyle, then came second in 50m SC backstroke.

McMaster won the combined team scores as well with 2015 points.
