HAMILTON, Ont.
— The McMaster Marauders (2-1) quieted the home fans at University Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The women in maroon came out firing on all cylinders, winning in a dominating fashion, 53-19 over the Laurier Golden Hawks (0-2). The Marauders have a three-game win streak against the Golden Hawks dating back to 2018.
The Marauders were successful at every facet of their game, and this led to a very strong output from several players.
Osa Olaye (Missisauga, Ont.) was a difference maker in the game scoring two tries, leaving her total to six on the young season.
Along with Olaye,
Taylor Wood (Uxbridge, Ont.) also added two tries which brought her try total to six on the season as well. Rookie Marauder,
Soh-Lee Jung (Chatham, Ont.), made her mark on Sunday, scoring her first two tries of her career.
Elise Voskamp (Kingston, Ont.) and
Mikayla Rutty (Missisauga, Ont.) each added their first try of the year.
Chayse Palfi (Keswick, Ont.), added to her already great start to the year. The third-year lock added five conversions and one penalty accounting for 12 points in the game.
The Marauders will look to keep the momentum rolling as they take on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (1-2) on September 21st at Ron Joyce Stadium.
