Colin Korry take home Marauder Athlete of the Week honours for their performances over the past week.
Women's Golf – Jimin Kim
Kim, a first-year member of the women's golf team, impressed at the final event of the 2023 OUA season. After Round 1 of the 2023 OUA Golf Championship, the Thornhill local sat in a tie for 6th place with an opening round 77, five shots back of the Day 1 leader. The first-year science student recorded two birdies on her final 18 holes to finish the final round with a four-over 75. The McMaster rookie moved up to finish tied for fifth in the standings as a result, finishing out the tournament with a +10 on the women's side. Kim had the best individual result of any Marauder at the weekend event.
Men's Lacrosse – Colin Korry
A goalie on the Marauders men's lacrosse team,
Colin Korry was a standout in net during McMaster's defensive 1-0 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues. The Whitby, Ont. local faced 28 shots and pitched the shutout. A second-year molecular biology and genetics major, Korry has played in five games for the Marauders this season to record a 5.63 goals against average. He is one of just two players across the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) that has a shutout this season. McMaster sits third in the CUFLA West with a 6-3 record and one game remaining on the schedule.
