PREVIEW: AWARD-WINNING MARAUDERS QUALIFY FOR PLAYOFFS

The McMaster Marauders men's lacrosse team has qualified for the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association West Division playoffs and will face the No. 1 Brock Badgers tonight at 7pm.

Away from home, the game will take place in St. Catharines at Brock's Alumni Field.

The Marauders are currently ranked fourth in the West Division, setting up a challenging game for them tonight against the Badgers, but their recent play suggests that the underdogs have a fighting chance at moving on in the postseason.

In their last regular season game, McMaster fell to the defending Canadian champions, the Western Mustangs, just 10-9.

The Marauders have a team stacked with talent, three players from which have been selected to the Western Division All-Canadian Team.

Attacker Brian Huyghue, midfielder Mitch Pellarin, and defenceman AJ Skirving are representing McMaster among the best university field lacrosse players in Canada.

These men and the rest of the talented Marauders squad will be fighting for a place in the Championship weekend.

The Baggataway Cup will be awarded in the CUFLA Championship, taking place from Nov. 5-7, hosted by Nipissing University.

If McMaster is successful in defeating Brock's in tonight's match-up, they will move on to the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 5 in North Bay.
