HAMILTON, Ont. - The Marauders have been counting down the days until the 2022 OUA season and it is finally here. McMaster opens the season on Saturday as they make the trip to London to face the Western Mustangs. The team will return home on Sunday for Round 2 with the Mustangs. Game time is set for 3:15pm both days. After graduating a large class in 2021, the Marauders look to balance their veteran experience with new energy from those who will wear the maroon and grey for the first time.

Season Preview
The 2022 OUA men's soccer season will reinstate a familiar format. The conference will return to two-divisions (East and West), as opposed to the three-division, OUA East, OUA Central and OUA West format of 2021. Each of the 18 teams will play 12 regular season games and,the top six teams from each division at the end of the regular season will qualify for the playoffs.
After an impressive 2021 campaign that saw the Marauders reach the OUA quarterfinals and sweep the OUA Central awards, the maroon and grey will look to build upon that success this season. Many of the individuals from last year's roster have graduated so the Marauders will field a relatively young team this season. Senior,
Miles Green (Toronto, Ont.), will be one of the veteran leaders for McMaster. Green had an impressive League 1 Ontario season, scoring 23 goals this year. The Marauders will lean on Green to be an offensive threat this OUA season.
In addition to Green, the Marauders have added some veteran experience to their lineup.
Justin Wood (London, Ont.),
Dante Morrissette (Ajax, Ont.) and
Ahmad Mansour (Waterdown, Ont.) have sported different colours over their varsity careers but each have traded in those jerseys for the Marauder maroon and grey.
With so much new talent on the team, Head Coach,
Chris Markou, is excited to see what this year has in store.
Andrew Kadhe (Vaughan, Ont.) and
Ethan Cagalj (Stoney Creek, Ont.), members of the 2022-23 recruit class, will hit the field for the first time as Marauders. When speaking of these recruits, Markou discussed the skill level of each and their potential on the team. "Andrew and Ethan are highly talented individuals that I look forward to joining our squad. They have the ability to make an impact immediately."
The Marauders will aim to cement themselves as a threat for the OUA Championship this season.
No tickets will be required to attend the Marauders' regular season home games at Ron Joyce Stadium.
