GUELPH, Ont. - The University of Guelph's Varsity Field played host to the Marauders and Gryphons on Saturday afternoon in the maroon and grey's second contest of the 2022 season.
Guelph, the defending OUA Champions, have hopes of retaining their title this season while the Marauders looked to upset the #5 nationally-ranked Gryphons for the first time since 2015.
On Saturday, the home team controlled the game from start to finish, opening the scoring just three minutes into the contest, the first of seven tries scored by Guelph in the first half. The Gryphons never looked back, en route to an 86-5 victory.
Katie McLeod (Richmond Hil, Ont.) scored the lone try for the Marauders.
The Marauders now sit at 1-1 on the season while the Gryphons move to 2-0.

The Marauders will play on the turf at Ron Joyce Stadium for the first time in 2022 next Saturday September 17 versus the Laurier Golden Hawks. Game time is set for 1pm.
