HAMILTON, Ont. - With a big win at Trent in the opening weekend of the 2022 OUA women's rugby season, the Marauders venture on the first road trip of the season - visiting the Guelph Gryphons in what is sure to be a tough contest.

The Marauders and Gryphons met twice during the 2021 season with the red, yellow and black taking both contests, including a 46-12 OUA semi-final victory.
In last weekend's season opener, the Marauders opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a try fromÂ

Katie McLeod (Richmond Hill, Ont.), added the convert. McLeod added to her tally minutes later on a successful penalty to make the score 10-0 in favour of McMaster. Trent scored a try of their own butÂ
Vanessa Webb (Barrie, Ont.) returned the favour for the maroon and grey. The Excalibur added a try late in the half and made the conversion. At the half, the Marauders led 15-12.
Guelph (1-0) will be participating in their first game of 2022 after the Brock Badgers forfeited the first game of the season. Guelph is recorded with a 20-0 victory.

Four Marauders found their name on last week's scoresheet, each recording one try or more throughout the 80 minute contest. Today, others will try to break through for McMaster against one of the toughest teams in the conference.
