HAMILTON, Ont. - The Marauders have just one game left on the regular season schedule and will look to add to their win total this season. McMaster has locked in a spot in the post-season but, with the OUA West standings as close as they are, a win on Sunday would secure a home playoff contest. The maroon and grey will face the Laurier Golden Hawks at Ron Joyce Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the only meeting between the two sides this season. Game time is set for 3:15pm.
Wilfrid Laurier vs McMaster
Ron Joyce Stadium | Hamilton, Ont.
October 23rd, 2022 @ 3:15pm
The Marauders defeated the Algoma Thunderbirds twice last weekend in Sault Ste. Marie and will aim for a similar result against the Golden Hawks this afternoon. McMaster has picked up eight points in the last four meetings with Laurier, recording two victories and two draws. The Marauders and Golden Hawks last met in September of 2019 at Ron Joyce Stadium when the contest ended in a 1-1 draw. A few weeks earlier, the Marauders travelled to Waterloo and secured a 2-0 victory over the Golden Hawks.
Sachin Sargeant (Lynden, Ont.) and
Bernardo Illoz (Vancouver, B.C.) both scored two goals in last weekend's contests with the Thunderbirds while
Jordan Baker (Hamilton, Ont.) and
Ahmad Mansour (Waterdown, Ont.) each added one.
Laurier sits at 3-6-2 in the standings, good for seventh position, after drawing with the Windsor Lancers last weekend.
Last Time Out
With nine goal scorers this season, the maroon and grey have a multi-faceted attack and will look to take advantage of it this afternoon. The Marauders have recorded 117 shots this season for an average of 20.2 per game. McMaster has recorded 21 goals this season.
