HAMILTON, Ont. – After falling to the No. 1 nationally-ranked York Lions last weekend, the Marauders will look to return to the win column in this week's match-ups. The maroon and grey now sit at 5-3-1 in the OUA West standings. The Marauders are tied with Guelph for third place and with just three games remaining in the regular season, each game is crucial to locking down a playoff spot. McMaster will travel to Sault Ste. Marie this weekend to take on the Algoma Thunderbirds twice. Kick-off is set for 3:15pm on both Saturday and Sunday. These games are the only scheduled meetings between the two teams this season.

The Marauders showcased their grit and drive last weekend in a hard-fought battle against the top-ranked, and undefeated ,York Lions. McMaster ultimately fell 3-0 and will look to rebound this weekend against Algoma. The Marauders and Thunderbirds last met in September of 2019. McMaster recorded 14 goals in 2019's double-header, winning by convincing 7-0 and 7-2 scorelines. The maroon and grey will look to extend its win record against the Thunderbirds this weekend and lock down six more points enroute to the OUA playoffs.
In last week's contest with the Lions, Ethan Cagalj (Stoney Creek, Ont.) made thirteen saves for the Marauders while Miles Green (Toronto, Ont.), Sachin Sargeant (Lynden, Ont.) and Xavier Thomas (Whitby, Ont.) were the three Marauders to have an attempt at goal.
Algoma (0-8) is currently winless and sits in last spot in the OUA West standings.

With five goal scorers this season, the maroon and grey have a strong attack and will look to use it to their advantage this weekend. The Marauders have recorded 101 shots this season for an average of 11.2 per game. McMaster has found the back of the net 15 times in 2022 with an average of 1.67 goals per game.
