PREVIEW: WOMEN’S RUGBY HOSTS GRYPHONS IN RETURN TO RON JOYCE

The McMaster Marauders women's rugby team will have the honour of hosting the first OUA event to take place at Ron Joyce Stadium since 2019 as they host cross town rivals, the Guelph Gryphons Friday evening at 7pm.

The Marauders are two years removed from their 2019 season where they went 2-2 during the regular season. After a convincing 71-0 quarterfinal victory over the Trent Excalibur, the Marauders fell to the Gryphons in the semi-final round and bounced back to claim an OUA bronze medal over the Brock Badgers, 41-3.

Returning to the Marauders are a strong core of veterans including 2019 OUA Shiels Division all-star Katie McLeod. The squad will be led by a new head coach at the helm, An Hoang, who will oversee her first season on the field with the squad. Hoang, and the Marauders women's rugby team will poised to pull off another podium finish as a standout team in the OUA.
