The McMaster Marauders women's rugby team dominated the York Lions on Saturday evening at Ron Joyce Stadium with a final score of 53 - 5.

It was the last home game of the regular season and with a contagious energy in the stands, the team came out hungry. The Marauders held the York Lions in their half for the first 17 minutes of the match while dominating possession.

Vanessa Webb put the Marauders on the scoreboard with the first try of the game.
Tia Svoboda followed shortly after giving the team a 10 to nil lead. The Marauders continued blazing, and
Ila Bett booked it downfield with a 50-yard run, then laying it off to
Malaya Mizal, who secured the try.

Fourth-year
Stacey Warner also racked up some points scoring two tries in the game. Co-captain Kathryn McLeod put away a try and four conversions for the Marauders.
In the second half, the team kept the energy up, with Bett locking in another try in the 42nd minute and Brie Clarke putting one away in the 48th minute.

In the 71st minute, Miyah Samson secured York's only try of the match. Followed by the response from Katie McLeod, who snuck in a try right before the final whistle.

The Marauders women's rugby team now holds a 1-1 record and the York Lions fall to 0-2.
