PREVIEW: MARAUDERS WELCOME LAKERS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The McMaster Marauders men's soccer team welcomes the Nipissing Lakers to Ron Joyce Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 2:30pm.
 
The Marauders are coming off a win against the third-place Toronto Varsity Blues after tying them at the beginning of October and built off their winning ways with a 2-1 victory on the road against the Lakers on Friday.

History
The two teams met on Friday evening, and the Marauders were quick to get on the scoreboard. Dusan kovacevic continued his goal scoring form with his OUA league leading 12th goal of the season in the 12th-minute of action. Marcus Channer secured the win with a goal in the 61st minute with an assist from Cheikh Tchouambou Youmbi.
 
Beyond Friday evening, McMaster and Nipissing don't 3have a detailed history of playing one another. Before this season, the teams were slotted into different OUA divisions, McMaster in the West, and Nipissing in the East. However, due to COVID-19 protocols, the league has been reorganized into three divisions and both the Marauders and the Lakers find themselves in the Central Division.

Dusan Kovacevic F – Kovacevic was named the OUA's Athlete of the Month for his exceptional performance throughout September as well as OUA Athlete of the week for the second last week of the month. He led the league in scoring throughout September and continues to rank first in the OUA with 12 goals in seven games.
 
Tristan Joyce GK – The starting goalie has recorded three shutouts so far this season, as well as an .810 save percentage.
 
Nipissing
 
Cody Vaillancourt D – The defender is currently Nipissing's number one goal scorer with four put away this season.
 
Jack Collins M – Collins has two goals this season, but his impressive eight points have added up due to his ability to assist. With six assists, he leads the Lakers by a long shot.
