Women's Rugby: Marauders Dominate Golden Hawks to Roll into OUA Semifinals

McMaster scored 17 tries in the 109-0 decision at Ron Joyce Stadium

The Marauders made quick work of their first playoff foray Friday night, touching down 17 times behind the try line in a 109-0 demolition of the Laurier Golden Hawks.

11 McMaster players graced the score sheet in the OUA quarterfinal victory, as the Marauders booked their spot in a conference semifinal on the road.

Veteran back Sara Svoboda accounted for 40 points herself, racking up four tries and 10 converts, while captain Britni French added three tries, Khadija Brouillette had two and Katie Svoboda, Kaitlyn McLeod, Amanda Hoegy, Maddison Cohoon, Kayla Boisvert, Tia Svoboda, Taylor Price and Melissa Davies had one apiece.

Across the try line within the opening minute of play Friday, the Marauders built an insurmountable 68-0 lead by the conclusion of the opening half, and the pace hardly slowed from there.
