Veteran winger Sasha Ricciuti had the consolation marker for the Marauders, which arrived in the 81st minute and gave some hope of a late comeback, as McMaster fell to 2-1-0 on the season.
The Western duo of Lucas Ventura and Christian DeVia had goals in the 14th and 36th minutes to power the home side into a commanding lead at the break, with DeVia's strike ultimately proving to be the winner.
Directing eight shots at the Mustangs net, the Marauders managed to test goalkeeper Kody Thompson with just two of those.
NEXT UP: McMaster returns home to Ron Joyce Stadium to conclude the weekend with a clash against their long-time rivals, the Windsor Lancers. That match will kick off at 3:15 p.m.
