Box Score Just three days after a heartbreaking defeat on home soil, the Marauders looked a shell of themselves on Saturday. McMaster missed a few key characters and much of their energy and invention, dropping a 2-0 decision to Laurier at Ron Joyce Stadium.
Niklas Bauer and Nikola Miokovic had goals for the Golden Hawks, who improved to 3-2 win the win.
Being held off the scoresheet for the second time this season, the Marauders had just two shots on goal on Saturday.
Signs were ominous for McMaster from the opening whistle, as the hosts lacked pace or cohesion across the park. With the wing play of the likes of Sasha Ricciuti and Marco Gennaccaro missing from the side, the Marauders were stagnant on the ball.
They were punished for that play when the speedy Bauer nicked the ball from the Marauders back line and tucked it past goalkeeper Kieran Doyle-Davis in the 20th minute.
Unable to muster a response, Mac's misery was doubled in the 75th, when Alex Matsuraba was issued a straight red for a foul in the box, and Miokovic made no mistake from the penalty spot.
