WOMEN'S RUGBY: MAC ADVANCES TO CONSOLATION FINAL AFTER 24-5 WIN OVER ACADIA

After a disappointing loss in the opening game of the 2016 CIS Championship, the Marauders re-grouped and put on a dominant performance in a commanding 24-5 win over Acadia Athletics in the consolation semi-finals on Saturday.

MAC saw single tries from Selena Seguin, Sara Svoboda, Britni French and Madi Jenkins while veteran Fly Half, Steph Black, added a pair of converts.

Acadia continued to pressure the Marauders throughout the second half, but failed to connect on several opportunities. MAC's defense continued to play with width, speed and the strength that they have been known for throughout the entire season.

Sara was awarded Player of the Game for the Marauders, as McMaster's eight was named a First Team All-Canadian, and a runner up for the U Sports Player of the Year Award earlier in the week.

The Marauders advance to the Consolation Finals on Sunday, where they will face either Victoria or Concordia. Game time is set for 11am PST, 2pm EST.
