Top Ten Tuesday: Mac Football Moves Up Three Spots

Women's rugby remains at no. 1 while cross country appears ahead of OUA Championships

The Marauders football team kept top spot in the OUA within their grasp with a dominant win in Week 8, and were rewarded by the voters of the Football Reporters of Canada Tuesday. McMaster moved up three spots to no. 5, as CIS announced its newest top 10 rankings.

Elsewhere, the defending CIS champions, the Marauders women's rugby team remained in the no. 1 spot that they have occupied since the opening week of the season, six points clear of the Guelph Gryphons. McMaster plays host to the Western Mustangs in an OUA semi-final on Friday, October 21 at Ron Joyce Stadium.

There was little movement for the McMaster cross country teams, following a pair of team titles at the Canisius Alumni Classic in the teams' final tune up before the OUA Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Toronto on October 30. Mac's men stayed put at no. 6, while the women fell one spot to no. 9.
