Waterloo, Ont. — Five McMaster Marauders have been selected to compete in the 2026 U SPORTS East-West Bowl, set for May 9 at Warrior Field in Waterloo. The annual showcase features the top draft-eligible players from across the country as they look to impress Canadian Football League scouts ahead of the 2027 CFL Draft.
Three Marauders were named to Team West, including linebacker
Isaiah Shields (Hamilton, Ont.) and offensive linemen
Quin Cassidy (Brantford, Ont.) and
Christian Cote (Toronto, Ont.). The trio will represent McMaster on the West roster, bringing a strong presence on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Shields anchors the defensive group with his physicality and range, while Cassidy and Cote provide stability and strength up front.
On Team East, defensive lineman
Domenic Limanni (Orangeville, Ont.) and fullback Nate Denkers (Hamilton, Ont.) will represent the Marauders. Limanni earns the nod after making an impact along McMaster's defensive front, using his size and power to disrupt opposing offences. Denkers brings versatility to the East roster, contributing as a blocker and special teams option.
In addition to player representation, McMaster will also be present on the coaching staff, with Marauders coach Paige Hamilton serving as linebackers coach for Team East.
The East-West Bowl features 107 players from all 27 U SPORTS programs, with a minimum of three representatives from each school. The event serves as a key evaluation opportunity for professional scouts and provides athletes with the chance to compete against the top talent in Canadian university football.
Kickoff for the 2026 U SPORTS East-West Bowl is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 in Waterloo.
