TORONTO, Ont. —  Four McMaster Marauders football student-athletes have earned opportunities to showcase their abilities on the national stage this spring, as the Canadian Football League announced over 140 draft-eligible prospects will participate in this year's combine season ahead of the 2026 CFL Draft.

Linebacker Anthony Sestanovic and wide receiver Everett Reid have been invited to the Invitational Combine, while defensive back Ethan Stuart and offensive tackle Frank Vreugdenhil will compete at the CFL National Combine, marking a major accomplishment for both the players and the Marauders program.

The Invitational Combine takes place March 6 in Waterloo, where prospects will perform in front of league scouts and personnel. Standout performers from that event will then advance to the National Combine in Edmonton from March 27–29, joining the top draft-eligible Canadian and global prospects aiming to hear their names called in the upcoming draft.

Sestanovic earned his combine invitation after delivering one of McMaster's most consistent defensive seasons. Appearing in nine games, the linebacker totaled 53 tackles, including 36 solo stops, while adding 1.5 sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. His sideline-to-sideline presence and ability to make impact plays in both the run and passing game made him a cornerstone of the Marauders' defense throughout the year.

Reid was equally impactful on the offensive side, emerging as one of McMaster's top playmakers. The receiver recorded 43 receptions for 555 yards and four touchdowns across nine contests, averaging more than 60 receiving yards per game. His 95-yard touchdown reception stood as one of the season's biggest plays, showcasing his speed and big-play ability. Reid's reliable hands and knack for producing in key moments earned him a shot to further impress scouts at the Invitational Combine.

Stuart's strong play in the secondary secured his spot directly at the National Combine. Over nine games, the defensive back totaled 52 tackles, including 33 solo stops, while also contributing an interception and four pass breakups. His versatility allowed him to support both coverage responsibilities and run defense, making him one of the Marauders' most dependable defenders throughout the campaign.

Vreugdenhil's invitation reflects the vital but often underappreciated role offensive linemen play in team success. While offensive tackles rarely accumulate traditional statistics, his steady performance in pass protection and run blocking was key to McMaster's offensive execution this season. His size, technique, and consistency in the trenches now give him an opportunity to compete alongside the country's top prospects.

At the National Combine, players will first complete performance testing, including the 40-yard dash, shuttle runs, jumps, and bench press, before donning pads for two days of practices aimed at leaving lasting impressions on general managers, coaches, and scouts.

With four Marauders earning combine invitations, McMaster once again demonstrates its ability to develop talent capable of competing at the professional level, as all four athletes now take an important step toward realizing their CFL aspirations.
