HAMILTON, Ont. – McMaster's football players Michael Horvat (Hamilton, Ont.), and Christian Chukwuali II (Hamilton, Ont.) were named OUA All-Stars on Thursday afternoon as the 2025 major awards and all-stars were announced.
Michael Horvat (Hamilton, Ont.) – First Team All-Star: Punter, Second Team All-Star: Kicker
Kicker/Punter
McMaster's Michael Horvat has earned OUA All-Star honours after a stellar 2025 season that saw him dominate in both the kicking and punting game. Across eight games, Horvat connected on 19 of 24 field goal attempts (79%), including a season-long 47-yarder, and was a perfect 20-for-20 on extra points, finishing with 77 total points. In addition to his accuracy, Horvat showcased one of the strongest legs in the conference, recording 47 punts for 2,178 yards, averaging 46.3 yards per kick with a season-long of 62 yards and 10 punts placed inside the 20. His consistency, power, and reliability made him one of the most valuable special teams players in the OUA this season.
Christian Chukwuali II (Hamilton, Ont.) – Second Team All-Star
Defensive End
McMaster's Christian Chukwuali II has had a strong 2025 campaign, showcasing his impact on the defensive side of the ball. Over seven games, Chukwuali recorded 15 total tackles, including 13 solo stops and 4 assists, averaging 2.1 tackles per game. He added 6 tackles for loss for 33 yards and 5 sacks totaling 31 yards, consistently applying pressure on opposing quarterbacks and disrupting plays in the backfield. Chukwuali's combination of awareness, speed, and physicality made him a key defensive contributor and an important piece of McMaster's defensive scheme this season.
