Box Score It was hardly the beatdown of their last encounter, but the Marauders were comfortable once again in dispatching the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 on Sunday.
Their season-opening match at Ron Joyce Stadium had ended in a 6-0 win for the CIS no. 4-ranked Marauders, but the Warriors made a better account of themselves on Sunday.
Young striker Stefan Scholz stepped off the bench to score a second-half brace, while Marco Gennaccaro also had a goal for McMaster. With the win, the Marauders improved to 6-2 on the season, and sit in sole possession of second in the OUA West standings.
Gennaccaro got the Marauders on the board in the 40th minute, giving McMaster a 1-0 lead that they would hold into the break. It took only five minutes for Scholz to make his presence felt, as he struck for his first goal of the match in the 50th minute, before polishing off his cameo appearance with a second tally in injury time.
Sunday's result marked the third consecutive win — and clean sheet — for the Marauders since their loss to the York Lions in Toronto on September 10. They will look to continue that fine run of form when they welcome the Laurier Golden Hawks to Ron Joyce Stadium on Sunday, September 27 as part of Homecoming festivities.
