Box Score Yunus Mollayev continued him emergence as McMaster's most lethal attacker on Sunday, scoring the only goal as the Marauders shut out the Badgers in St. Catharines.
The win returned the Marauders to the win column after their midweek loss to the York Lions, and saw McMaster sweep the two-game season series with Brock. The no. 2-ranked team in the country remains perfect against non-York opposition in 2015.
The visitors got the best of play for much of Sunday's match, and forced six saves from Brock keeper Matt Zaikos versus a relatively breezy three from Angelo Cavalluzzo in the Mac goal. But the breakthrough proved difficult to find, and it was only late in the second half that Mollayev cracked the Brock defence.
After a scoreless opening half, Mollayev found his team-leading fifth goal of the young season in the 76th minute, as McMaster avoided the loss of points on the road.
The Marauders return home to Ron Joyce Stadium on Saturday, September 19, when they take on their OUA quarterfinal opponents of a year ago, the Western Mustangs.
